Paradise – Mt. Rainer National Park

This place is called Paradise for a reason, and it’s not your typical pom tree and white sand beach kind of paradise, it’s literally a magical winter wonderland.

The first time I visited Paradise was in mid-December, the same weekend my Husband proposed to me, which was magical in itself (and an entertaining story to say the least). But once we put on our snowshoes and explored the backcountry of Paradise at Mount Rainer National Park, my mind was even more blown.

Below the mightiness of the mountain reveals a maze of frosty trails with picturesque views from every corner.

The skyline trail is the hub where the other trails branch off and reunite at another spot along the way. Some of those connections with the Skyline Trail include Glacier Vista, Deadhorse Creek, Nisqually Glacier, and of course, Paradise Glacier. The snowy landscapes of the high country on all sides, the lowlands that stretch from beneath, and the panoramic vistas will leave you speechless (even on a cloudy day).

Ever since the proposal, it has become our tradition to stay in our favorite cozy cabin and visit this National Park every December. This place is a dream during the Winter and I would highly recommend this snowshoe adventure to everyone. Although, It’s a special place all year long.
